MacKenzie Scott continues her mission to support education and underserved communities in a major way. Her latest philanthropic effort includes a $118 million donation to three Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Alabama State University will receive $38 million, Alcorn State University will receive $38 million, and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore will receive $42 million.
These unrestricted funds will support student scholarships, academic programs, research initiatives, and student services. Scott has become known for her transformational giving, often providing large gifts with no restrictions attached, allowing institutions to invest where they see the greatest need. Her generosity does not stop here. She recently donated $70 million to the United Negro College Fund and $63 million to Morgan State University.
With an estimated net worth of $41.9 billion, Scott continues to use her resources to lift historically marginalized communities and strengthen institutions that have long lacked equitable funding. Her commitment to HBCUs is earning praise across education, philanthropy, and Black communities nationwide.
