Mel B Is Claiming PTSD!!!!

Mel B from The Spice Girls is back on the scene and she is opening up about the PTSD she is suffering from after leaving her reportedly abusive relationship.

The Spice Girl Alum did a candid interview with The Sun, and the 44-year-old did not hold back in revealing that she suffers from nightmares after leaving her marriage of ten years and described how she copes with the anxiety.

At one point in her partnership, she claims her ex Stephan Belafonte threatened to cut off her finger. In her night terrors, she recalls waking up from dreams where he actually acted on his threat.

She goes on to say:

“I thought it had actually happened because he was threatening to do that,” she told the outlet.

“I was convinced my finger was gone and my mum had to reassure me it was still there. I have to remind myself that I’m living in the present and that the flashback is my brain playing tricks on me.”

She describes her healing process as ongoing.

I’ve got a long way to go. It’s baby steps. Everyone thinks it’s fine when you leave but that’s when the next battle really begins.”

Going through her own experience helped her to empathize with other women who were victims of domestic abuse. She wrote about her relationship in her recent book, “Brutally Honest,” and she is heavily involved in domestic violence charity, Women’s Aid.

“No wonder women feel like they are going crazy and are tempted to go back (to an abuser), because life alone can seem so impossible. You may have had the strength to leave, but do you have the strength to stay away?” she explained.

Continuing, “Even though you have left your abuser, there is a whole new way of trying to find yourself and trying to deal with your emotions and PTSD or whatever mental illness you have. That pain and anxiety is always there.”

We are definitely hoping she finds peace and happiness.
