A$AP Rockyhas been officially charged with assault (causing actual bodily harm) in Sweden. According toCBS News, the rapper will face trial over the street fight that took place in Stockholm on June 30th.
Stockholm public prosecutorDaniel Sunesonsaid in a statement released this morning (July 25th), “I have today commenced criminal proceedings against the three individuals suspected of assault causing actual bodily harm, having come to the conclusion that the events in question constitute a crime and despite claims of self-defense and provocation.”
He continued, “I have studied the videos made available to the inquiry. It is worth noting that I have had access to a greater amount of material than that which has previously been available on the internet. In addition to video material, the injured party's statements have been supported by witness statements.”
Rocky will be held in jail pending a trial, and while the trial date has not been set,TMZreports that it could be held today. A rep for the prosecutors said the trial will be held within the next two weeks and is expected to last three days.
Two members of Rocky’s crew have also been charged with the same crime and will be held pending trial.
