Rihanna is back with her all-new song from the Smurfs movie soundtrack, and its iHeartRadio's latest World Premiere.

On Friday, May 16, the soon-to-be mother of three released her first song of 2025, "Friend of Mine." The upbeat electronic track has Riri crooning about instantly connecting with someone new. The song, produced by Jon Bellion, f a l l e n and Pete Nappi, arrives with the singer's first music video in three years. Rihanna holds an oversized flower like an umbrella as she enters the Smurfs' home in the forest and transforms into "Smurfette." The Smurfs turn up and party while the song blares throughout the Smurf village.

"Friend of Mine" appears on the official soundtrack for the upcoming Smurfs movie starring Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, Daniel Levy, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Marshmello, Kurt Russell, and John Goodman. Rihanna stars as "Smurfette," who leads the others as they work to save "Papa Smurf" (Goodman) after evil wizards kidnap him. The soundtrack also features new music from Cardi B, DJ Khaled, DESI TRILL, Natania, Subhi and more.

This is the fourth soundtrack Rihanna has appeared on within the past decade. Her previous song "Lift Me Up" was the lead single from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever OST in 2022. She earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and was nominated for a Grammy. She was also part of the soundtracks for Star Trek Beyond (2016) and Home (2015).
