A member of the Fugees [[ foo-geez ]] is going to prison. Pras Michel [[ Praaz Mih-shell ]] was a founding member of the Fugees. In April of 2023, the Praz was convicted of ten criminal counts including money laundering, illegal lobbying, witness tampering and campaign finance violations. The Justice Department says he was behind a conspiracy in 2012 in which he accepted 120-million dollars from a Malaysian financier who was looking to gain political influence in the U.S. On Thursday, Michel was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his role in the conspiracy.
There's a new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On Thursday, the wife of late actor Chadwick Boseman received the honor. Director Ryan Coogler called Boseman "our most incredible jewel." Coogler directed "Black Panther," which starred Boseman as the Marvel superhero. Boseman died at the age of 43 in 2020 from colon cancer.
The Weeknd has set a new record with his After Hours Til Dawn tour, becoming the top-earning male solo artist with over $1 billion in revenue from selling 7.5 million tickets across 153 shows. He is only behind Coldplay and Taylor Swift in overall tour earnings. This achievement adds to his previous accolades, including being named the most popular artist in the world in 2023 and his hit single Blinding Lights going RIAA-certified diamond.
