(Washington, DC)  --  The White House is rejecting reports that U.S. aid to Egypt is being cut off. Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest called the reports "inaccurate" and said the question of ongoing aid to Egypt is still being reviewed by the administration.  Egypt gets more than a billion dollars in American aid each year.  Some U.S. lawmakers are demanding that aid be cut off as the deadly crackdown on protests continues in Cairo.  Egypt is a longtime U.S. ally in the Middle East.  Earnest said foreign aid is not turned on and off like a faucet.
